Sandy Ridge Farms is located in the North Carolina Sandhills just outside of Candor, North Carolina, the "Peach Capital" and home of the North Carolina Peach Festival which is held there every year on the third Saturday in July.
Sandy Ridge Farms was started way back in 1938 by Robert M. Chappell, when he purchased a small tract of land in Moore County and planted his first peach orchard. Over the following 50 years with the help of his wife, Eleanor Chappell, and daughters, Anne, Gay and Eleanor, the farm grew, prospered and expanded with over 8000 trees in production in the late 1980s and operating one of the last remaining pack houses in the State. Sandy Ridge peaches were known as some of the finest peaches in the southeast and were shipped all over the Country. Today, brothers - Andy, Charles and Mark Harris represent the third generation to work the family’s farm and carry forward the Sandy Ridge reputation.
Sandy Ridge Farms currently has 22 different varieties of peach trees, harvested from late June to the end of September. Our peaches are delivered to farmers markets and road-side stands throughout North Carolina fresh from the orchard the same day they are picked. This assures that our customers receive only the freshest, tastiest peach, something that our family has taken immense pride in for over 70 years.
